Professional Practice Coordinator

*Shift: 8:00A - 4:30P

  • Reporting to the  Director of Acute Care and Nursing Excellence, the Professional Practice Coordinator is directly responsible for the pathway to excellence program and ensuring excellence in clinical practice.  The expert nurse provides leadership and coordination hospital wide including  all aspects of pathway to excellence application, designation, and re-designation process. The expert leader will assure standards are deployed and evidence based practice and performance are hardwired into all areas of the organization. The Coordinator will measure outcomes for nursing quality metrics. The coordinator will facilitate and oversee the preparation of documentation, policies, and research activities related to quality and acquiring and maintaining pathway to excellence designation. The Coordinator drives the organization to achieve and maintain Pathway to excellence Designation.


  • Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Must have a MSN Degree or higher at time of hire or must obtain within 28 months of hire.
  • Specialty Nursing Certification is required or must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Must have and maintain current BLS Certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.
  • Must have and maintain ACLS Certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire date

  • Must have three (3) to five (5) years acute care clinical experience.
  • Experience with leading an organization through pathway to excellence designation or Magnet designation highly preferred.
  • Must have teaching, coaching, and presentation skills
