Manager of Risk and Patient Safety

*Shift: Days

POSITION SUMMARY:

 
  • Reporting to the VP of Quality and Regulatory Affairs, the Manager of Risk and Patient Safety independently leads and manages the organization's Patient Safety and Risk programs.  This position promotes and advances a culture of safety and a just culture through influence in order to maintain optimal patient outcomes to help reduce the likelihood of healthcare related errors.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced, acute care hospital environment.  There is minimal exposure to infection and/or hazardous materials in this position.   This is an exempt position.
 
  • This person will serve as the hospitals Patient Safety Officer and will be effective in developing working relationships to support collaborative responses to Risk Management and Patient Safety matters involving all levels of staff within the hospital.
  •  
  • Must be professional and cooperative with patients, visitors, employees and members of the medical staff, in support of the hospital's customer service goals.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/License/Certification:
  • Must have current and active California RN License
  • Must have BSN degree in a healthcare related field of study

Experience/Skills:
  • Ideal candidate will have three (3) years of experience in managing a patient safety and/or Risk Management program in an acute care setting clinical experience in acute care facility as a Registered Nurse is required.
