To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiological Technologist in the state of California along with a Fluoroscopy Permit.  ARRT certification is required.  Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.  IV certification is preferred. 
 
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have at least 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab or IR Rad Tech.  Must be capable of dealing effectively and ethically with co-workers, physicians, and other Hospital personnel.
 
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Imaging, Cardiac Cath Lab/IR Director, and in consultation with the Medical Director, the Cardiac Cath Lab/IR Lead Radiology Tech performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures and is responsible for all imaging aspects in the Cardiac Cath Lab and IR. Provides input regarding the performance of all technologists in assigned areas. Will assist the physician and scrub in procedures. Must have knowledge  of manifold set up, operation of cardiac output and all modalities of monitoring the patient while in procedure. Responsible for patient care, comfort and completion of required procedures.  Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.  Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs.  Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.  Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies.
 
Supervises and schedules technologists to assigned areas. Responsible for various clerical and Quality Assurance duties as assigned. On call responsibilities required, when need is determined by the department director or Admin. Director.  Ensures that the IR and Cath Lab Departments are sufficiently stocked with supplies.  This position is also responsible for training technologists and ensuring competency for Cath Lab and IR technologists.
 
Must be able to work overtime and normal scheduled working hours to include Holidays, on-call and call backs when the need is determined by the Department Director and/or Administrative Director.  Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. 
 
Must maintain compliance with rules and regulations set forth by the governing agencies.
 
Follows AIDET and accepts reassignment and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner. May be assigned to work in other Imaging Modalities.  On-call responsibilities required in any of the Imaging Modalities if the Technologist is trained in multiple areas.
