GME Coordinator - Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • The GME Program Coordinator (PC) is critical to the success of the program. As such, the Program Coordinator must possess skills in leadership and personnel management. Program Coordinators are expected to develop unique knowledge of the ACGME and Program Requirements, policies, and procedures.  Program Coordinators assist the Program Director in accreditation efforts, educational programming and support of residents.  With oversight and direction from the Program Director, and Institutional Program, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the residency training program. The position follows a matrix reporting system structure to the Program Director, DIO, and Chief Academic Officer. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies (ACGME) and hospital policies, as well as a high-degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Program Coordinator  is also responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) residency/fellowship training program.  The PC assists the Program Director (PD) in developing and maintaining the educational quality of the training program and ensuring compliance with ACGME accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements.   The PC functions as a liaison between the PD, residents/fellows, faculty, GME Office, participating sites, and other departments.  The PC should be knowledgeable about compliance and regulatory requirements and the various training sites in which the residents /fellows rotate.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/License/Certification:
  • A bachelor's degree is required, however a Masters degree is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of medical terminology.


Experience/Skills:
  • 2 or more years of experience in healthcare related field required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
