Director of Staff Development

*Shift: 8:00A - 4:30P

  • Reporting to the DP/SNF Department Director, with a dotted line to the Director Clinical Informatics/Education, the Director of Staff Development assumes responsibility for Orientation, In-service Education and training for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA's) to meet state regulatory agencies requirements. Recognizes educational needs of DP/SNF and acute care CNA staff and facilitates accordingly. Responsible for Safe Patient Handling & Mobility program (SPHM) for both DP/SNF and the Acute Care staff needs..

  • Must have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of California.
  • Must have CA Director of Staff Certification or obtain within 6 months from hire date. 
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within the orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.
  • Acquires basic Infection Prevention LVN practice knowledge within 6 months of hire
  • Previous clinical teaching experience of at least one (1) year.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations as to C.N.A. training, orientation, and in-service.
