Job Description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current California licensure in Radiology Technology and Fluoroscopy and ARRT. Minimum one (1) year CT experience preferred; ARRT certification in (CT) preferred. Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care. Must have and maintain IV certification or obtain within 6 months of assignment to department. 6 month time frame is at the discretion of the department director.
Under the direction of the Admin Director of Imaging and Physical Therapy, Director of Radiology, and in consultation with the Medical Director, the Computerized Axial Tomography Technologist performs professional duties involved in a variety of Computerized Axial Tomography exams.  Responsible for patient care, comfort and completion of required procedures.  Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs.  Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.  Responsible for safe radiation protection practices. On call responsibilities may be required.  May be assigned to work in other Imaging modalities.  Must follow AIDET and accepts reassignments and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner.   Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies. 

On call responsibilities required.  If Technologist is trained in multiple modalities, (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology), on call responsibilities will be assumed for two of the aforementioned modalities during the call period.  Example:  (Ultrasound/Nuclear medicine or CT/Radiography).
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
