Job Description



To perform this job successfully, an individual should have High School diploma or equivalent; Must have experience in all areas of Sterile Processing; Must have certificate of completion for Sterile Processing Course and demonstrates acceptable knowledge of microbiology, anatomy, etc., as determined by Director and at least one year experience.

Under the direction of the Unit Director, Lead Person, is independently capable of functioning in all areas of the department.  May be assigned supervisor responsibilities in any area or act as lead in any designated area.  Engages in receiving, sterilizing, stirring, rotating and delivering materials, equipment and supplies to various hospital departments.

Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.

Needs to recognize that they have an affirmative duty and responsibility for reporting perceived misconduct, including actual or potential violations of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or this organization’s standards/code of conduct.

The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and the employee shall at all times demonstrate a cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
