Clinical Educator
Under the general direction of the Director of Clinical Education, the Clinical Educator works in collaboration with the Vice President of Patient Care Services and directors to meet the educational needs of the staff. The Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs which facilitate the competence of hospital staff within their specific departments. Is responsible for developing a process or processes designed to ensure that all individuals are competent as appropriate to the ages of the populations served.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, data audits, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions. Able to develop and present routine reports to groups and prepare correspondence.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient computer skills as demonstrated using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System for patient documentation and Windows Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and be familiar with Internet search applications.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, within last seven (7) years, in areas related to assigned departments. Certification in one specialty area of practice (ANPD, CNL, CCRN, PCCN, MSRNC, NEC, CEN) preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a current licensure as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the state of California and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Masters of Nursing (MSN) or Nursing Education (MSNEd) Degree required or in progress to be achieved within 3 years of accepting the position. Masters degree in other healthcare related field may be accepted with demonstrated staff/patient Educational experience.
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS provider cards required.
BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor card required or obtain with in one (1) year of hire.
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
