Time in this position will be split between renal patients at the outpatient dialysis center and acute care patients at the hospital.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission of Dietetic Registration. Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required. Spanish speaking preferred.  Must be knowledgeable in current diet therapy practices.  Should be familiar with food service systems operations. Minimum of twelve (12) months professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian required. Supervisory experience desirable. To perform this job successfully, an individual should obtain 75 CEU’s every five (5) years to maintain CDR.  Serve Safe certification is encouraged. CSR (Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition) preferred. Membership to Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is encouraged.
Under the direction of the VP of Patient Care Services/CNO, the Director of Renal Services and the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Clinical Dietitian performs nutrition screening/assessment, diet counseling for both inpatients and outpatients, patient visitation, diet consults, documentation in patient medical record and department records, and performance improvement and monitoring.  When working with Dialysis patients, the Dietitian establishes guidelines for nutrition assessment, progress notes, patient/family education, short-term care plans, long-term care plans for all patients being dialyzed on an outpatient basis, and support to all members of the multidisciplinary staff in regards to the nutritional care of the Chronic Renal Failure patient.

Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
