Job Description



To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of two (2) years of Accounting experience or a minimum of five (5) years of Accounting experience, preferably in the Healthcare Accounting/Finance area. 
 
The individual must possess knowledge of accounting principles and practices to ensure the accuracy of all financial reporting.  The individual must have experience in the financial month-end closing process such as preparing and posting journal entries into the general ledger.  The individual should have strong analytical skills and have the ability to read and understand financial reports.
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be computer literate with extensive experience in general ledger and Microsoft Office software applications.
 
Under the direction of the Director of General Accounting/Controller, the Staff Accountant performs various accounting functions such as account analysis and preparation of journal entries to help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Hospital’s financial statements.
 
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
