Job Description



To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiological Technologist in the state of California. The individual must also have a Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of California or obtain one within 6 months of date of hire.  The individual must have ARRT certification in Radiography or obtain ARRT certification in Radiography within 6 months of date of hire.  Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.  IV certification is preferred.  

Under the direction of the Admin Director of Imaging and PT, and in consultation with the Medical Director, performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for Radiologic diagnosis, with latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative.  Responsible for patient care, comfort and completion of required procedures.  Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served:  i.e. Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.  Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development; and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups.

Responsible for various clerical and Quality Assurance duties as assigned.

On call responsibilities required.  If Technologist is trained in multiple modalities, (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology), on call responsibilities will be assumed for two of the aforementioned modalities during the call period.  Example:  (Ultrasound/Nuclear medicine or CT/Radiography).

Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.

This position has variable hours.  Must have open availability including nights.
