To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiological Technician in the state of California.  Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required.  NMTCB or CNMT preferred.  Must have and maintain BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.
 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills.  Experience with P.A.C.S. System preferred.  Must have Digital Imaging knowledge and basic understanding of Nuclear Medicine camera function.
 
Under the direction of the Admin Director of Imaging and Physical Therapy, Director of Radiology, and in consultation with the Medical Director, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in humans.  Evaluates work progress within those areas of designated responsibility.  Orders equipment repairs.  This position requires comprehensive understanding of related technology, independent judgment and complete knowledge of all Federal and California Regulatory Commission rules and regulations.  Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.  Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs.  Possesses knowledge of growth and development; and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.  Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies.
 
Follows AIDET and accepts reassignment and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner. On call responsibilities required.  If Technologist is trained in multiple modalities, (C.T., M.R.I., Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology), on call responsibilities will be assumed for two (2) of the aforementioned modalities during the call period.  Example:  (Ultrasound/Nuclear medicine or C.T.-Radiography).
 
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours which may include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call in the Director's absence. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
