NEW GRAD/NOVICE RN RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™

There is so much to learn as a newly graduated nurse, and opportunities to gain that knowledge in an acute care setting can be difficult to find. The year-long Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ at SVMC was developed to meet that need and start new nurses off on the path to meet their dreams of a successful and rewarding career.

Description

In the Nurse Residency Program, residents will learn in a mentored and supportive work environment helping to transition them from an advanced beginner nurse to a competent professional nurse. They will enjoy the camaraderie of their fellow residents and begin to develop a network of relationships that will last a lifetime.

Benefits

The Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ will improve confidence, competence, communication and other valuable skills. Residents will gain leadership skills, focus on patient safety outcomes and develop as a professional at Sierra View.

To be eligible for the program, the applicant must either:

  • Have their RN license from the State of California; or
  • Be scheduled to take the NCLEX and have their Interim Permit from the CA Board of Registered Nursing.
