RN - Emergency Room,  Per Diem
DAY Shift from 6:45A - 7:15P
Must have one year of experience as an Emergency RN to work in the per diem Emergency RN position. ?


To perform this job successfully, an individual must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.  Must have and maintain current BLS card, required.  ACLS and PALS, is REQUIRED of all experienced Emergency department nurses upon hire start date (experienced in ED within last 2 years). If new hire is a transfer into the emergency department or has no prior emergency department experience (within the last 2 years), BLS card must be current prior to starting/transferring to the emergency department and ACLS and PALS will be required within 6 months of hire/transfer start date.  MICN certification is required within 1 year of starting employment/transfer or prior to being assigned as Charge RN or Resource RN. If the new RN is a recent graduate from nursing school/novice nurse, they will be required have BLS card prior to hire/start date and to obtain ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire/start date. Must have and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or obtain within one (1) year of assignment to department.

Under the general direction of the Unit Director, Clinical Manager and Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (R.N.) independently provides holistic, individualized care using the Nursing Process for patients routinely seen on the unit.  Demonstrates an advanced level of clinical competency, Nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.  Independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills.  The R.N. contributes to the Sierra View Medical Center Department of Patient Care Services and the Nursing profession in a positive manner.
 
The R.N. is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and nursing care delivery appropriate to the ages of the patients served.  Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs.  Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.
 
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours which may include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call in the Director's absence. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours.

The employee must work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines; and the incumbent shall at all times demonstrate a cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors from all departments of the Hospital and government agency employees.


This position has variable hours.  Must have open availability including nights.
